CUC-Code-of-Higher-Education-Governance-2026_150626📢 The Committee of University Chairs (CUC) has just published a new Code of Higher Education Governance, setting expectations for accountability, financial sustainability and institutional leadership. The Code applies in England and Wales. Institutions in Northern Ireland also use the Code as a best practice governance framework. This Code does not apply in Scotland, where the Scottish Code for Good Higher Education Governance applies instead. Developed in response to growing pressures around funding, regulation, and public trust, the Code helps governing bodies lead effectively in an increasingly complex environment—while safeguarding institutional autonomy. 👉 Download the Code document below:
