We are delighted to invite university member Chairs to register for the CUC Stakeholder Dinner & Autumn Plenary 2026, taking place on 16–17 November 2026 at Woburn House Conference Centre, London. This two-day programme will bring together university Chairs, sector leaders, and governance experts from across the UK for discussion, insight, networking, and idea exchange on the future of higher education governance.

Join us for an exclusive CUC Stakeholder Dinner on 16 November at Woburn House Conference Centre. This exclusive evening will bring together University Chairs, senior governance leaders, and key sector stakeholders from across the UK. Professor Cara Aitchison, Chair of the Scottish Funding Council, will deliver a pre-dinner address. The dinner will provide space to reflect on emerging challenges and opportunities, share perspectives, and explore governance’s evolving role in higher education.
🌿 CUC Autumn Plenary | 17 November 2026|10:30-16:00
The CUC Autumn Plenary on 17 November 2026 will bring together representatives from all four nations of the UK to explore the key issues shaping higher education today and in the future.
The programme highlights include Dan Shah, Chief of Investment Planning and Strategy at UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), discussing UKRI’s new 2026–2031 strategy and what it means for universities, alongside a panel exploring Building a Successful Chair–Vice-Chancellor Partnership. Attendees will also hear the latest from CUC, including updates on key delivery areas and new member benefits. The afternoon will feature a further keynote session and HE Reform and Resilience in UK Nations, bringing together perspectives from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Through keynote presentations, expert panels, and sector updates, the Plenary will offer an excellent opportunity to hear different perspectives, explore the challenges and opportunities facing governing bodies, and share experience and best practice with peers across the sector.
